Every stage that the False Indigo goes through is visually compelling, from its triffid like
emergence to its spectacular display of flower (see
this from last year ) to the showy seed pods after its flowered. The stage I like best however is when its is in bud - the color is a deep rich indigo like nothing else I know. I've also found that regularly trimming off the outermost stalks keeps the plant upright where its prone to flop somewhat after flowering. This way it keeps its striking shape through much of the summer.
